Sounds of the Toronado

For the new 1966 Toronado, Oldsmobile put out a plastic record called "Sounds of the Toronado." On the first side is "a story in sound about Oldsmobile's new, one-of-a-kind car." On the second side is John "Shorty" Powers, then the well-known "voice of NASA mission control" and an Oldsmobile spokesman, taking us "on a musical ride in the spacious, '66 rocket-action Oldsmobiles." The record is a 7-inch square of flimsy plastic that would remind you of the flexible 5.25-inch computer floppy disks of the '80s and '90s.

The first audio link below plays side 1. The second link plays side 2.

Each side is about 5 minutes in length.
