Toronado Chapter Annual Meeting 2009

The annual meeting of the General Membership of the Toronado and Aurora Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America was held on Thursday, July 16, 2009, in conjunction with the 2009 OCA National Meet at the Seven Springs Resort, near Pittsburgh, PA.

The Meeting convened at 4:00 PM in the Wintergreen Room of the Resort, attended by approximately 20 individuals, including members and significant others. There was no particular agenda, so the meeting was an opportunity for members to share their individual Toronado histories, experiences, problems, wants, needs, etc.

One member expressed interest in obtaining a Toro-based airport limousine, or possibly a stretched personal limo. A couple members talked of expanding their involvement beyond OCA into AACA; this would seem a beneficial activity, to make more of the car hobby aware of our special Oldsmobiles. Another inquired about repair of the steering wheel rim used for actuation of the horn, and another asked for assistance in procuring some of the first newsletters, originals or copies. There was some discussion as to the selling prices of our Toronados; it seems that 5-digit prices are very uncommon, but it was noted that there was an asking price of $23,000 for a 2000 mile ’66 or’67 being shown at this show. NOTE: If anyone can help with any of these particular comments, please have a note put in the next newsletter so that a follow-up contact can be made.

At the end of all sharing and discussion, the meeting adjourned at 5:13 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Paul Andreas, Secretary
