Minutes of the meeting of the Toronado/Aurora Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America, Hall of Champions Room, Wyndham Hotel -
Airport, Indianapolis, Indiana. July 24, 2026.
Meeting called to order at 3:05 p.m. with 14 members in attendance.
Dan Gulino, TAC webmaster, welcomed everyone and passed around an attendance sign-in sheet. The room was gone around, and everyone introduced themselves, gave their hometown, and listed the Toronados and/or Auroras they own.
The minutes of the 2025 TAC meeting in Bowling Green, Kentucky provided by Secretary Paul Andreas were read and approved without corrections.
The Treasurer’s report was read. There were no comments.
Dan mentioned the existence of the chapter’s website and that, while it is typically only updated yearly when photos and such from the most recent OCA Nationals are added, it is a source of potentially useful information such as Toronado and Aurora production numbers, past TAC meeting locations and meeting minutes, photos from past Nationals, a list of OCA Nationals locations over the years, and more.
Under Old Business, there was not much comment except Dan mentioning what was discussed last year regarding Fusick providing parts including first-generation fuel tanks and sending units. Dan mentioned that he had talked to the people in the Fusick trailer at the swap meet and asked them about possible new Toronado parts becoming available in the future. They said it was unlikely simply because of the cost involved in having the parts reproduced and in the low overall sales numbers that would result. So don’t count on anything new from Fusick in the future.
Under New Business, newsletter editor Trent Plungas’s comments sent to Dan in an email were read to the attendees. Trent commented on the history of the chapter, Ralph Braun’s actions in starting it and keeping it going, and the activities of the current chapter leadership. Trent mentioned the purpose of the newsletter, among which is the conveyance of technical articles of help to the membership. He invited contributions for future issues.
The discussion was then opened to whatever was on the minds of the attendees. There were several comments about how people acquired their cars and what they’ve gone through in restoration and in acquiring parts. Some people asked about parts sources, and Dan mentioned John Dorcey, ebay, and the usuals, like swap meets, craigslist, and the classified sections of JWO and the TAC newsletter.
One person mentioned that they had a very good experience in having a car shipped by a company called We Will Transport It (wewilltransportit.com). Several others mentioned their experiences with car shipping companies. No one had a bad experience to share.
There was a question as to whether it would be possible to have a roster of TAC members created showing names, cars owned, and contact information so people can contact each other for help and advice and possible parts locating. Dan said he would check with Trent, Paul, and Jeff.
People noticed that attendee Jonathan Hunter was wearing a T-shirt with the TAC logo on it, and people asked about getting that shirt. Dan mentioned that it’s not financially viable for the chapter to have shirts produced because the cost could not be recovered because of the expected relatively low sales number and the need to have shirts made in various sizes.
Jonathan said that he had his shirt made by a friend and that that friend is willing to make a shirt for anyone else who wants one. Jonathan can be reached at cadparts@charter.net.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
A group photo of the meeting attendees taken by the OCA photographer followed immediately.
Respectfully submitted,
Daniel Gulino
